Microdental Laboratories Announces Leadership Changes BY EDITOR, MAY 8, 2015
MicroDental Laboratories' Kim Bradshaw Passes the Reigns to Bill Johnson as Next Chief Executive Officer.
MicroDental Laboratories announced the promotion of Bill Johnson to CEO and Len Liptak to President. Earlier this year Kimberly Bradshaw identified that an organizational and leadership change was prudent based on the new needs of the organization and emerging industry trends. After carefully considering her recommendations along with other alternatives, the Board of Directors agreed with Bradshaw's suggestions and fully supports her passing the reigns to Bill Johnson as Chief Executive and to Len Liptak as President. Both gentlemen served as members of her Executive Team and have been integral to the success of the Company.
"We brought Kim in as CEO because of her track record for designing and executing strategy, implementing systemic approaches to customer service, and her reputation for building strong teams, all of which MicroDental needed in the rapidly changing dental laboratory industry. We are appreciative of Kim's accomplishments to get the Company to this point," commented John H. Foster, Chairman of MicroDental Laboratories. "Having achieved her objectives, the company is well-positioned for the next phase of development and for Kim to transition to her next venture."
"I entered the Company with the vision of installing a myriad of cutting edge technologies that would offer dentists both a better quality product and an enhanced service experience. Today, MicroDental has a few secret weapons that have them on the cutting edge; the Company has become a force to be reckoned with," noted Ms. Bradshaw. "I am proud of the transformational change the Company experienced during our time together. We have built a strong foundation and MicroDental is well poised for its next stage of growth."
Since joining MicroDental as Chief Financial Officer in early 2013, Mr. Johnson has taken on additional operational responsibilities including overseeing the Company's Information Technology and Manufacturing groups. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Johnson had successful executive experience in organizations going through transformational processes in the metals service center, engineering/construction, and home healthcare industries. He began his career with American Hospital Supply and spent several years with Abbey Medical, one of the founding companies of Apria Medical. Further, he has a background working with private-equity portfolio, family, and public companies, including the IPO (NYSE) of Earle M. Jorgensen Co., in 2005. Mr. Johnson has an MBA in Finance from Mercer University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business/Accounting from Indiana University. Additionally, he is a CPA and attended the Tuck Executive Program. As CEO of the Company, Mr. Johnson will also retain the role of CFO.
Mr. Liptak served as the Company's Executive Vice President of Network Operations and Marketing before assuming his new role as President. Mr. Liptak has led the Company's efforts to develop MicroDental's growth engine and key sales and marketing capabilities. His results have garnered numerous accolades, including being named to ExecRank's list of top sales and marketing executives. Prior to joining MicroDental, Mr. Liptak held global sales, marketing and business development positions with 3M Company's Dental Division and Stryker's Neurovascular Division. As the global business lead for 3M's ceramic and digital orthodontic product portfolios, Mr. Liptak earned the company's prestigious Golden Step, Circle of Technical Excellence and Global Sales and Marketing Leadership awards. Mr. Liptak holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota, a BA from Brown University, and is trained in multiple Six Sigma disciplines.
